Edward Phillips Oppenheim (22 October 1866 - 3 February 1946) was an English novelist, in his lifetime a major and successful writer of genre fiction including thrillers. He wrote more than 100 novels between 1887 and 1943. "Floating Peril" was first published serially in "The New York Post" under the title "The Story Without a Title" in 1935.
